Our Mission
Despite living in a world that is not made for them, the individuals that we serve learn to overcome and adapt. Despite the barriers, these individuals thrive. Despite the labels that are placed on them, they persist. Our mission is to help individuals with disabilities continue to overcome the odds, despite whatever obstacles they may encounter.
What Makes Maverick Living Different?
Maverick Living was born from a broken system. Our founder worked for 20 years in every facet of the IDD world, from group homes and day programs to vocational training, teaching Special Education, working in institutions, and eventually as a Master's-level therapist. And in every area, there were individuals who were left behind or fell through the cracks, there were programs that worked well but were stuck in an outdated system, and there were places that were just awful. After a decade of speaking to families who were panicked about where their kids were going to end up and what would happen after they couldn't care for them anymore, Maverick was born. We do things differently. We are client centered: we value community over profits, with a focus on community exposure, independence, and integration. The clients in our care are citizens in that community. We want everyone we serve to be comfortable in our care, but ultimately we hope that one day, with enough help from our team, they will be able to thrive on their own. Our model focuses on individuals learning and growing, and maybe one day moving on and into their own home or apartment.

Teamwork is the act of working together to achieve something greater than one person can achieve alone. At Maverick Living we work as a team to provide consistent and quality services to all our clients.
Respect
A deep admiration for someone's abilities or qualities and a regard for their feelings, rights and wishes. Maverick Living is dedicated to treating our clients with respect in all aspects of their public and private life.
Empowerment
The authority or power given to a person to complete an action. Maverick Living empowers individuals to achieve any goal they set for their self, often a lifetime of barriers request outside support to achieve a goal, we bring a supporting hand to help our individuals cross those barriers.
Accountability
An obligation to accept the responsibility for one's own action, decisions and behaviors, even admitting when you are wrong and there may be consequences. Life is filled with moments of accountability, at Maverick Living we believe in being accountable and learning from mistakes. Individuals in our care are taught accountability as a skill that they will need in order to grow as a person and community member.
